A pinch and a punch...

...for the first of the month. Ahhh the bruises, we still do this in our house. It is usually me that is the receiver of the pinching and punching whilst innocently making breakfast for the kids. Maybe I might have to wake them up early tomorrow  so I can get my own back for once....lol. But would it really be fair to wake them with a pinch and a punch I am not sure, but then again game on....I really copped it last month.

For this week Audrey and I have created two kits, they can be seen in the shopfront on the right side bar of my blog. Our first kit 'Red Vintage Inchie' is following on from the tile canvases and is made of inchie tiles set into a  frame. The finished project measures 9.5cm x 11cm and is made in gorgeous vintage red and cream colours. Some tiles are raised up and others set back making it an interesting piece. All of the products, instructions and photographs are included in the kit and the price within Australia and New Zealand is $19-00. It costs $24-00 for other overseas destinations. Ink and glue will be required to complete the project.

Our second kit is a 'Home Sweet Home' wooden frame kit, measuring 24cm x 19.5cm. Because of the weight of the wooden frame this kit is only available within Australia. The frame is embossed in the corner and has these quite intricate houses in a row down the bottom. What street scape isn't complete without a tree, birdhouse and cute little bird. All of the products are included in this kit (over 60 of them), full instructions with photos, postage and handling. Some ink and paint will be required. We only have 12 of these kits available and already they are selling fast to those on our mailing list. The cost is $48-00 all inclusive.

Once again it's been a very busy week Audrey  and I have taught 6 classes and I thought I'd share some of the finished projects. It started last Wednesday at Scrapbook Central where  we made two delightful boxes, some of the girls are using  the large box as a gift card storage box or an address card storage box.

For-Our-Eyes-Only-Damask-Ca   Damask close up

We are teaching a follow up to this class on Wednesday night, where the girls will make 6 quick cards and 6 gift tags. Here's a peek at that. There could be a couple of spots left, but best to check with Scrapbook Central about that.

SC-For-US-Damask-Delight-Ca

We then headed 'bush' .....hehehehe, its not really bush but just over an hours drive from home, to Rockingham and  Made With Memories where we taught three classes from early in the morning until late into the night. First up was our technique book, so many different and very hands on techniques. It was fun as we split into two groups, ala Master Chief, I headed up the red team and Audrey the blue team and it was a race to the finish. I think I was the most mischievous, hiding Audrey's sample, not passing on the tissue paper and anything else I could think of to sabotage them winning. Need I mention the red team won....lol.

Technique Book Distress MWM5sm (1)

The next class was the Shabby Chic layout...Audrey taught this whilst I did a repeat of the technique book.

And we finished off the day with our card class. The theme was A Touch Of Blue...

Square-Card-1 Heart-Card-3

Flower-Card-2

And then it was Saturday and we taught two classes at Tomorrows Memories. The first one was this butterfly frame.

Butterfly FrameTM 009 (1)  and then the last class for the week was this technique based dress form frame, you should have seen how dirty the girls hands were, but they all seemed very happy with the end result. We had some fun in these classes too, there is always some mischief when we get together, although it could turn around and bite us in the bum.....Jo left her camera in the classroom and we took many many many very bad and very naughty photos.....tsk tsk tsk.

TMFrameWithDressForm_012  TMFrameWithDressForm_011

Anyway enough on classes past, we have a couple coming up in the next week. On Saturday at Scrapbook Central we have the most amazing fibre-lusciously gorgeous storage box, it can be used for storage of the cuttlebug storage folders or to house 8.5" x 11" layouts. The storage box is made from scratch so it will be a very interesting class indeed. I am not sure if there are still any spaces available, best to contact  Scrapbook Central direct about that.

SC-For-Us-Enchanted-Forrest

Then next Wednesday night we are back at Tomorrows Memories for these delightful coat hangers class. There is the choice of either a pink or blue hanger. They are a little intricate but look positively sweet hanging in any home.

And now for some of my ponderings...

Like many people all over the world I admit to sadness over the death of Michael Jackson. I am of the age where I grew up listening to him and before that The Jackson 5. I was 14 when 'Off The Wall' came out and looking back at those film clips I can understand why I fell in love with him. It has been a time to reflect on my own childhood, teen years and later in life; to relish those memories associated with his music. I spent half of Sunday watching and re-watching my DVD's and the rest of the time I've had his CD's playing in the background. They say a picture speaks a thousand words...and this one speaks volumes.

Have-You-Seen-My-Childhood

Its just so very very sad.

Take care everyone, love and be loved.

Artful Friday

It's been a cold and stormy day today, perfect weather to stay indoors and get creative.

Audrey and I have some arty kits to present this week. In honor of the bad weather in Perth we've made some nice warm hidden nests amongst our creations.

Our first creation is this 7cm x 7cm art box in collage style. It is so rich and warm in real life and so much fun to create. This kit will include everything needed to make the piece except for the twig.  But we figure it is fun to go on your own nature hunt to find the exact/perfect twig to build your nest upon. In our area many a fight has been had over particular twigs, and to be honest you have never seen two large/ageing ladies run so hard to get first dibs on a twig I tell ya! Too funny! Full instructions with pictures are  provided. Your basic tool kit, some paint & ink is all you'll need.  So some pics....

Small-Nest-Art-Box-Scan-Ima

The price for this 'small collage nest box' is $28.00 to Australia & New Zealand and $33.00 for other overseas destinations. See the shopfront to the right if you are interested.

Our other creation this week is this amazing 'Soar Canvas', it measures 10cm x 10cm and is made using a thick edge canvas. So much fun to create, again in collage style, gotta love that and  it's so easy to do. The cost of this one is a little dearer because of the width of the canvas and Australia Post charges. There are two different options in the shopfront, one for Australian destinations only and that is $35.00 and the second option is for New Zealand and other overseas destinations and that is $45.00.  Here's some pics

We've got a busy week next week so I doubt I will be back here during the week. If you are looking to do any classes this week there are still a couple of spots in some of our classes.

Wednesday night is our Damask Delight class that I mentioned in the previous post being held at Scrapbook Central

Then Friday we will be in Rockingham at Made With Memories  for three classes, it's always a huge day there with classes going on well into the night but so much fun.

Class one is our a touch of blue card class.

MWM-for-US-A-Touch-Of-Blue-

And then we have this gorgeous layout class, very girly, very pretty, very shabby chic...

MWM-FOR-US-Shabby-Chic-Layo

And then to finish the day & night we have this technique book.

Technique-Book-Ad-Image

And then we round off the week with a couple of  classes on Saturday at Tomorrows Memories in the morning we will be doing this frame and artpiece.

TM-For-US-Butterfly-Frame-&

And then in the afternoon this gorgeous rich dress form frame.

Well I think thats about it for me for tonight. Have a great week everyone, stay dry, stay healthy and be happy.

Edited to say, how did Saturday creep up on me so fast.....better catch some zzzzz's before netball in the morning.

Bargains Bargains Bargains...

Are to be had at Scrapbook Central until Saturday this week.  They are having a pre-stocktake sale and if you are anything like me, you love a bargain. So I think I had best hook up the trailer this morning and head over there really quick...lol. SALE of printed paper, bazzill, making memories paint, clear stamps and some other tubs full of great specials.

 Untitled

If you are in the area, check out mine & Audrey's  class samples as you walk in the door. We have our damask delight class coming up next Wednesday night (shhhhh it's Audrey's birthday as well....) So I have to think of some way to make it special.....but that's a secret...hehehe) (oh and suggestions welcome). So if you are looking for something to do we'd love to see you, there are still a few spots left.

So what is damask delight you might ask? It is the most gorgeous card storage box, or it could be used for recipes or anything else you'd like to use it for. You will decorate the box and also a smaller box too, that does fit inside. The small box includes 6 gift cards as well. Yep its a huge class, beautiful, functional and would make the most perfect gift.

There is a follow up to this class too, which is a quick card class, where you make 6 easy cards in the one session and they match perfectly with the storage box.

Enough rambling I know.....a picture tells a thousand stories (or something like that)

And here's a peek at the card class too which is on the 1st July 2009.

Where did that week go?

I can't believe another week has flown by, is it just me or is everyone feeling the same way. I will go to bed tonight feeling very satisfied, today we posted out all of our orders that have come in over the week. The instructions were emailed out tonight, Audrey tells me I am very naughty as people get the instructions before their packages arrive. But those that know me well, will say yep typical Miss Max, tormenting again. But really I am just trying to be efficient, well that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.

We have had quite a few emails from people asking to purchase some of the kits that have sold out. Product permitting we will make some extras, so if you are interested just drop me an email at rickmax@three.com.au

This week we re-kindled our passion for art boxes, yep we are still addicted to those. The boxes come from the wonderful Collections Elements and Julie Van Oosten who inspired the 'Couture' box below with her industria technique. The 'Parisian' box was designed to match the Moulin Rouge tile canvas.

Couture-Art-Box Parisian-Art-Box3

The boxes each measure 13cm x 6.5cm and are 3D of course. The photos don't show the depth into the boxes. The kits include all the products needed, except for adhesives and some paint and come with written instructions with photos of the process. Postage and handling within Australia & New Zealand is also included in the price with an additional $5-00 for other overseas destinations.

Anyway if you are interested at all pop over to the shopfront to the right side of my blog.

Hopefully I'll get back here again before next week is over.

Take care everyone, and stay warm....brrrrrrr

It can't get much better than this

I've had such a great day today. The morning started with 'high tea' at Jason's school, the spread was yummy, the conversation was great and having my son serve me two cups of tea....yep it was good. The morning tea was put on for the parents of the kids in Jason's Home Economics class. And lunch, yeah I didn't need it....lol.

Then Miss Lauren had her story selected for the school newsletter, I tell ya I don't know where she gets her good humour from *blush*. Here is what she wrote.

A SPOON (A Soap Story)

“Hello I’m a dirty old spoon in a soapy clean dishwasher. I hate being a spoon”. One day I was in the dishwasher waiting to be cleaned when…..ZAP!! The big soapy dishwasher comes on and my mouth got filled with soap and water. It was disgusting, it was more than disgusting it was dark and scary. It bruised me since I’m just old and plastic but yeah! Yippee! It turned off. Oh dear...I just got excited but now the power is back on. One second is not a lot of time. Well at least I’m clean but I’m bruised. How unfair and I now have blue spots on my face! This is my worst nightmare. I just found out those blue spots are spoonpox. I’m allergic to the clean soap in the dishwasher and that means I’m going to get this every week! Hang on… I look good with bruises and with spoonpox. I’m a spotty spoon!

Another proud parent moment there. Oh and I promise I don't lock her in the dishwasher....lol

Well we've been busy making more kits, the last lot got posted out today, so now its onto packing the new kits.

Here's what they look like....

The Vintage tile kit. Another 4"x4" canvas with all of the products included including the canvas and written/pictorial instructions. The cost is $28-00 withinAustralia & New Zealand and for overseas orders an extra $2.50 postage is required.

Vintage-Tile-Canvas-Ad

These photos really don't do the canvas a great lot of justice, I was most pleased with how this one turned out.

And The Shabby Chic Canvas. Again a 4" x 4" canvas with products, canvas and written/pictorial instructions. This one is $25-00 within Australia & New Zealand and an extra $2-50 for overseas orders.

Shabby-Chic-Tile-Canvas-Ad

We've also put a few other bits and pieces in the storefront that you can see in the right side bar. These kits will ship out Friday 12th of June

Well I guess that's me for tonight, take care everyone.

More Kits Finally

Audrey and I have been very busy making new class samples, we've got some amazing stuff being taught over the next couple of months. I'll be back with more on those next week sometime (I know famous last words).

We've also made a couple more kits and have more in the process of being completed..so stay tuned for those. I tell ya the ideas are bouncing off the walls in the Hazebroek household, no time for any new dance moves lately.

So what are the kits you might ask? They are both little tile canvases that measure 4" x 4" square, all of the products will be included so that your finished canvas should look just like the original. Many of you already know about the tile craze sweeping through households across Australia, and if you don't then what better way to try your hand at it for the first time, having everything set out for you. So if you are interested head over to the store front to the right-side of my blog. We are still packing the kits so they won't actually ship until Friday 5th June 2009, full colour written & photographic instructions will be emailed out on that day also. The cost includes postage within Australia, but if you are overseas just email us for a quote on what the extra postage will be. rickmax@three.com.au

Here's the first kit, 4" x 4" Moulin Rouge tile canvas

I am living very dangerously today, Audrey and I have been making frames for our class tomorrow at Made With Memories in Rockingham. We had the air staple gun going and Audrey insisted we be well protected, yep you guessed it I was in control of the staple gun!!.....seriously would I miss with the gun....lol. I find this photo so funny....its a very blurry one of us, we've got no make-up on, I have a very bad hair day, oh and not forgetting the safety glasses.....but oh so funny. I wonder how long I can leave it here without being told I have to take it down......lets just test the waters here....lol.

PHOTO REMOVED FOR BEING SO BAD!!!!! It didn't take long......

Have a great long weekend everyone.

Hugs

Sold Already

A huge big thank you to everyone that purchased one of our kits. The response has been fantastic and they are already all sold, plus some extras. The last of them will go out in the post tomorrow.

I'll be back at the end of the week (I hope) with another kit, it'll be different, a favourite of mine and something ever so popular....so stay tuned.

A big congratulations to  Tomorrows Memories on turning 5. Be sure to check out all of their birthday celebrations and specials. Audrey and I will be there on Wednesday night for our class. They've also had a breast cancer fund raiser. For a gold coin donation people could purchase a little tag kit, which they then decorated and gave back to the store. I can't wait to see what the end result is with all every ones wonderful artwork pieces displayed together.

Here's the one I made, its very lumpy.

We are still busy making more samples for class projects, so I best get some shut eye before tomorrow.

Hope all you Mothers out there had a wonderful Mothers Day.

Somebody hit me.....I am very excited!!!

So why the excitement you might ask....well....check out the side bar on the right....ohhhhhh yeah!!!!!....doing a happy dance right about now....lol.....OK that was a bad image sorry......so yeah it took forever to figure out how to do it....and yep it's only got 2 things on there....but just around the corner there will be plenty more to come....lol

We made these gorgeous 6' x 6' samples for a Collections class and decided to do some extra kits in-case somebody out there in cyber space was interested in making one for themselves. They can be displayed on an easel or turned into the front cover of a journal book. Everything is included, cut to size with detailed photographic instructions too..... just add glue basically. ....oh and maybe a bit of inking too......oh and perhaps a little sanding......oh and some scrunching....but the instructions really are very easy to follow....and who knows maybe in the process you'll try something you haven't done before. As an added plus there are two colours to choose from.

Postage within Australia is included, but priority, registered or international post will be extra, email us for more details on non-standard postage if you are interested.

So here they are....the gorgeous blue kit

Light-Dress-Form-Kit-Ad

and the deep vintage red kit

Dress-Form-Dark-Kit-Web-Ad

OK enough for me tonight, I've got class samples to do stuff on, emails to attend to (I know I am a shocker at that) and a date with Bella, Edward and Jacob....but don't get me started there.

Take care all.

Hugs

Max
