SIA

It's such a shame, but due to unforeseen circumstances I won't be at SIA next week.  It is all very disappointing as I was so excited to be going. I was looking forward to teaching, being on the booth and having the chance to catch up with lots of old friends and to have made some new ones. Although I'm unsure if the classes will still go ahead, I'm hoping that those who were booked into my Delish classes will be accommodated in other ways. I recommend that you all visit the Delish booth as the new Bistro range is the best yet in my opinion and I am sure there will be plenty there to wet your appetites.

Last night I went to Julies house to drop off the Collections stuff I was bringing along in my case and (sorry Julie) she had 'stuff' everywhere, what a mess....but a very inspiring mess I should add. I've seen most of the samples and they are all stunning. My prediction is that everyone going near the booth will have their socks knocked off because it's all fan-tas-tic, such a credit to you Julie...you are just amazing. I know at Scraptivate we can't keep up with the Collections products, they literally run out the store. Here's another sneak peak of one of the other samples I did for Julie.

And another of the projects I did for Scrapmagie.

Plus there is another tutorial on the Scrapmagie site for my flying butterflies as seen below.

Whilst posting I thought I'd share another of my projects for the Masters. This one is my double layout. It's actually a free standing triptych page. It opens to reveal pictures from San Francisco and my journaling is about how I got to spend the day there and was a great experience it was.

First the outside.

There is so much detail on the front which doesn't show up very well in my photo but you get the picture....and and theres lots of Collections stuff on there too.

And then the inside which is really three pages.

Until next time, which I hope won't be too far away.

Take care

Long time no speak

Hi there,

It seems forever since I've updated my blog, but today I was told I really needed to make a post, even if it was just a small one.

So whats new..... I've started working at Scraptivate since coming back from CHA. I work Wednesdays & Fridays and I've also been doing a LOT of teaching there. I've been having weekly card making classes....all to go with the divine gift card compendium, and then teaching one or two other classes on the weekend.

We've also been looking at furniture for the new house (well new old house....lol) even though I still haven't sat in the new recliners yet and we've had them for nearly a week.

I've been busy with my Delish classes for SIA and I am very very excited about the new Bistro range....the colours and designs are so yummy....not to mention the scrumptious embellishments. I wish I could share some pics, but that will have to wait until I get back.

Another SIA project I've been working on is a few samples for Collections. Anyone going to the event will be blown away by Julies products. I don't want to give too much away, but head on over to her blog (link above) and check out some sneak peaks. It's been eating me up that I haven't had more time to play.....but I guess I do have the rest of my life to do so....and believe me I think it will take me that long to play with everything, there is SOOOOO much.

Fibrewithowl

Last month I was a guest designer for scrapmagie I had a stunning kit to work with, all perfectly matching and really just so easy to use. I did four layouts and a btp item. I wont bother sharing them all, but here's one pic of the finished mini album. Its a Maya Road one in the shape of a flower, with each page being a different petal. I tell you Marina puts together beautiful kits and if you are ever on the look out for a great kit club......she's certainly one of them!!!!! There's a step by step instruction on the website to create the BTP item below.

Minialbumfinalimage

Anyway I think thats about it for this post....I could go on forever....lol.

If you are going to SIA next week, please be sure to stop by and say hello I'll be on the Delish booth.

I'd also like to thank everyone that is still coming back to my blog......mwaaaaah a big sloppy kiss to you all.

And finally to those ladies that continue to support my classes at scraptivate, I really really really appreciate each and every one of you. You all make my life richer for having you there, you truly do. I just love classes and to keep repeating the same ones over and over , gosh some even five times, just blows me away that there are that many beautiful people wanting to come and learn something from me. Thank you again.

Take care everyone....until next time I get a kick up the behind to go and update!!!!!

It Must Be A New Year...

Is that why I am crawling out of the woodwork, or is it a New Years resolution, or is it that the guilts are finally becoming too much, or is that I cant be bothered doing much else.....well for whatever reason...... I thought it would be nice to wish everyone a Happy New Year....and may 2008 bring everyones dreams to fruition.

So much has been happening in the Hazebroek household of late....we move into 'the dream home' later this month although we do still have our own house to sell....but we'll get there soon I hope.  My dad is still unwell but we are all hopeful that everything will turn out ok.

I am waiting for some Delish Designs papers to arrive so I can make samples for my upcoming classes at Scrapbook Central. The Delish Mulberry Season line is just divine and I did get to have a play with them awhile back, which I haven't shared yet.  So here's some of what I did.

The wings and decorative borders are all available from Scraptivate as are the Collections houses. If you are unable to get into the store follow the link as they are available to purchase on-line. I wish I was able to share the frame in real life as it gorgeous. I've taken down my Christmas decs....because of 'home open' but this one is still sitting proudly in my cabinet.

Speaking of Scraptivate I have some great classes coming up this month. We kick off the year with my gift card compendium, all made from scratch (I know the girls are going to curse me). There are pockets inside to put cards and a listing of each month to write friends and families birthdays in. Below are a couple of sneak peaks.

I really must re-take the front cover image as more 'stuff' has been added since these pics were taken....and I just have to say I am really thrilled with how it has turned out. Then after this class I'll be doing fortnightly card making classes on a Thursday night.

Another class I have coming up at Scraptivate is this Fibrelicious file. It was originally made for my Scrapbooking Memories Masters entry. Its is a storage file for my cuttlebug embossing folders but of course it can be used for anything. It will be a day workshop and it too is made from scratch. I cant wait for this workshop as I am imagining all the fun we will be having.

There is so much depth and detail in this project it really is like some sort of fantasy garden in real life.

Anyway I think thats probably it for now, I really need to attend to those ever mounting emails that have once again built up because I am so horribly lazy at getting around to answering them....bad bad bad girl I am.

Thankyou to everyone for their lovely comments and also those that have emailed me to offer their congratulations about Masters. That will have to be my next entry, to share my projects a bit closer.

Have a wonderful New Year everybody.....stay safe....and heres to 2008.

Gotta Love...

that Aussie Smack blog (NOT) It seems it's still out there, and I am once again up for a good smacking.

I had a good laugh at some of the comments relating to me and my blog and about my need for 'look at me'......the anonymous person who wrote it obviously doesn't realise that I never update my poor blog....And I shamefully admit I've never been very good at keeping it up-to-date.

And what is even funnier is that I'd been thinking about shutting it down because I never update it.  But now I am thinking reverse psychology I best start updating more.......lol.

Too funny!

I am busy working on some class samples for next year and we've had lots of 'house' stuff going on at the moment  so when I get some spare time I will come back and update.

Take care everyone.

It's All Very Exciting

Audrey and I have now finished all four classes for the October Scrapboxx retreat and we photographed them today. I have to say we are still mighty pleased with ourselves...lol.

So here goes.....wearing our hearts on our sleeves...lol

Drum roll.................................... ta da.

Class 1

Whatsinanamewebsizepi

There's a little something extra in this class...which we won't reveal until the day....I just love a bit of suspense.

Class 2

Wallcanvaswebsize

Now this is our monster class. We are sure that everyone will be happy with the end result, even if it does take quite some time to achieve it.

Class 3

Shelayoutwebsize

Even though this is a 12x12 layout, I dont think anyone will want to put it inside an album. Audrey & I are already thinking we need to purchase a 12x12 canvas to display it on.

Class 4

Techniquesbookwebsize

This last class will bring everything together from the whole weekend, it will become a fond reminder of what went on.

We look forward to seeing you there. I just know we are in for such a treat.....I can hardly wait....how many days until October...lol.

I must mention all the brushes used in the sneak peaks are Rhonna Farrer 2Peas ones - Color My World & Snap Shot Frames.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Loving myself sick.....

Audrey and I have been busy creating a storm with our classes for the Scrapboxx retreat in October. Both avid viewers of the last Big Brother season and I hate to say it living in the neighborhood where a certain house-mate works its hard not to escape the title of this post. Needless to say we are loving what we have been creating and have be known to be shouting "Loving myself sick" at the top of our voices whilst parading around in the backyard looking for sticks....lol. OK OK OK.....so I admit it, its more me doing the screaming....but Audrey does do a few too. Luckily for us nobody has called the police yet....lol.

So I am busting to share some pics of what we've done, but that will have to wait until tomorrow....because we haven't even photographed them yet....but lets just say I think we have outdone ourselves really truly deeply....lol. Now I have taught at many conventions, in-store, on-line and craft fairs and I can honestly say that I have never taught anything as good as what is planned for this weekend. I am so so so so so excited!!!!!

I have to say that the two of together are an awesome team and we just bounce of each others creativity...what one forgets the other suggests and ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh its just soooooooooo good......OK so you've got the picture I am pretty pleased with ourselves....lol.

Now shhhhhhhh this retreat is being held at the Margaret River Retreat & SpaBanner_retreat

but the classes we have planned will be in slight contrast to the wonderful surroundings of the Margaret River Retreat & Spa. They will be jam packed with techniques galore and busy fingers...lol. One of the classes will be a monster one but will be so worth all the effort in the end. The final projects the ladies will take home will not disappoint, and I am sure you will all be very pleased with yourselves.  Although I am sure there will be plenty of time for relaxation too.

I believe there are still a few places left if anyone is interested, the weekend includes four classes, accommodation and meals. You can go here to the Spa Retreat Package on the Scrapboxx website. If you are at all interested, then check back here in a couple of days for some sneak peaks of the classes.

So what else have I been up to....mmmm.....oh yes I created a baby book for the Helmar newsletter. "Loving myself sick".....lol.....I am really pleased how it turned out. The instructions for the book will be available to download from the Helmar website soon if you are interested in making one. Heres some of the pics I took.

And  I cant go without giving a huge plug for the Aussie Dares. You absolutely have to go and check it out, the dare is 'Ad Inspiration' and what both the team and viewers/participants have come up with is truly inspiring....don't miss out...go NOW. And you still have a week to get your dare in to be in the chance to win the wonderful gift on offer.....so why are you still here....go NOW...lol.

Oh and if you are still here, thank you for popping in to my meanderings. I cant believe the traffic that comes through here each day, I am truly blessed I tell you.....THANK YOU...mwaaaah!!

Well I guess thats about if for this post, happy Friday everyone.

Newsflash

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to remind you all that registrations for Scrap-It close on the 7th of September.  I'd hate you to miss this opportunity as not only is it for a wonderful cause, but I am sure we'll have lots of fun throughout the day. Plus the added knowledge that we are doing something to help others is a wonderful thing.

I'll be there on the day as I am one of the judges of the page competitions, together with Casey Wilson Editor of Scrapbooking Memories magazine.  I'll also be doing some make and takes throughout the day.

For more details you can contact scrap-it@optusnet.com.au.

Oh and I nearly forgot to say about the raffle YOU could win an $8500 ultimate scrapbooking room. You don't need to be there on the day to win this awesome prize. So why not contact Scrap-It to secure your own raffle tickets, each book of 10 sold goes into the draw to win the grand prize.

I hope to see you there.

Take care everyone.

A confession

So you all know I am a very bad blogger, I've been trying of late to fix that. Then today it dawned on me that I really should do something about being a really bad emailer too. Can you believe so far today I have managed to delete 503 emails, and most of them were unanswered emails and off course replies to such emails.

I owe this inspiration to snap into action after a conversation with the wonderful K. I hadn't spoken with her for so long, and then after looking at her blog out of the blue, I knew I had to ring, it had been far too long between conversations. So K sending you love....oh and the deepest of green envy at your overseas ventures coming up soon.....lol

It can be such a liberating feeling, just getting things up to date.  So if you happen to receive an email from someone with the name of Maxine Hazebroek and you think what tha?????? I could be replying to an old email, sorry.  And if I haven't replied to you I may not have gotten the email because I think some may be bouncing out there in cyberspace.

Well today some more of my stuff went up on the Aussie Scrap Source Blog. We each got to choose a Heidi Swapp frame kit, and the challenge was to use everything in the kit and see what you can come up with. I picked the Easter kit, the colours were just so yummy, and this is what I came up with.

Framedfridgemagnet

This one is a small frame that I made into a fridge magnet. The tags, jump rings and ribbon were all included in the kit. I've just stamped the tags.

Goodtimescard

This one is a card using the yellow frame, I punched the design into it on the left corner. Love the bright yellow and red together with a touch of brown.

And then this one.

Firstbunny

So I haven't scaled this one too well. I added stamps and gel pens onto this frame. The flowers and yellow centres as well as the bookplate, heart shape tag (I stamped this too) and yellow ribbon were all in the kit too. Heaps of stuff in there. Oh and how cute is this old pic of Lauren. She still has that bunny rabbit, although he looks a little worse for wear now.

Firstbunnycloseup1 Firstbunnycloseup2

and this

Believeyouarebeautiful

Once again the white flowers, frame, yellow bookplate and other corner (cut from a frame) was all in the kit. I embossed and sanded the frame here.

I also believe the latest SM magazine is out, so sharing my Daisy Bucket challenge. These papers are just gorgeous, they have a lovely texture and the purple and fawn colours go perfectly together.

Catch you all very soon. Happy Monday everyone.

A New Venture

I don't think I've mentioned before but I am now a proud member of the Aussie Scrap Source design team, which means I get to play with all the yummy products and create some class kits each month. Today on the Aussie Scrap Source blog its the last installment in the meet the design team (ME). Now I am sure I sound like a right fool, its not easy to write about what ones style is and what inspires us. Infact I am sure I really don't have a particular style. But anyway I attempted to answers those questions. Here's the layout I created using lots of Basic Grey, and texture. I really like how it turned out. I especially love what I did to the photo.

Heres some of the close-ups.

I can also share a few Art Warehouse layouts that I've done recently. The first one is for the Product Spotlight, which should go up any day and the instructions can be downloaded from the Art Warehouse Product Of The Week Page
